Does my business really need social media?

Uncategorized Aug 03, 2015

Not every social media presence is built the same, nor should it be. Your social media presence has everything to do with your audience, industry, goal, and product/service.

Two years ago you'd find us advising companies that 'social media may not be for everyone.' Much has changed since then. Google has updated search algorithms, consumers and buyers have become more sophisticated, daily internet use has skyrocketed.

The answer to your question is yes. Your business needs social media representation. The next step is understanding WHAT you need.

Will Twitter Soar Again? When did it stop?

Uncategorized May 01, 2015

I'm pretty sure this is a question stock holders are asking. Because the end user is quite happy with Twitter.

Your sponsored ads don't distract me at all, I'm able to bypass as I wish with no problem. Rarely are the ads even something I'm interested in. I'm assuming the ad platform is leaving much to be desired by the advertiser? My question, what are you doing with the audience once you paid to reach them? Are you joining conversations? Are you selling? Are you targeting the right audience in the first place?

Twitter isn't about having the most followers. Twitter is about conversations and interaction. If you have a selfish social media strategy I can guarantee you probably aren't seeing your goals, hopes, dreams, and Twitter aspirations being fulfilled.

Engagement on any social media platform is a thankless job. Sometimes the ROI is instant, some (most) of the time it isn't.

Even today in 2015 people see social media as a platform to sell their product or service. Social media is...

Day 33: Use Images & Visuals

Uncategorized Nov 30, 2014

It's true, a photo is worth a thousand words. Which is better than asking your audience to read a thousand words.

Twitter makes this easy for us with a 140 max character limit. However, mostly every other social network always you to write as little or as much as you want.

Use photos to capture your message.

Make sure you:

  • Use your own images
  • Images that you purchased
  • Royalty free images
  • Brand your images with your logo, website, hashtag, or network name.

Test your posts and measure if your posts with photos get more action.

Day 34: Post Appropriate Content

Uncategorized Nov 29, 2014

From a business prospective you really need to define your appropriate. As mentioned in one of our earlier tips, know your audience.

Who is your target? This will help you guide tone, vocabulary, images, and more. Really, all businesses should refrain from online slang, foul language, politics, etc... Your online voice says a lot about your company. You want to keep your professional image credible.

We encourage varied postings, all geared to your audience. If you have a business page you want to limit how much personal information you post. You may be the owner posting, but you need to separate your business and personal. Or you run the risk of appearing less reputable.

We hope you find tip 34 helpful!
