If you've ever questioned if you should join or rejoin NAWBO - I'd love to give you a very brief look into my favorite things about NAWBO. Mainly, how I work it into my world.

One of the organizations I align with is NAWBO, because they are strong. They have a seat in D.C., a presence around the world, and chapters/members/allies across this amazing country. Since the day I joined, they've only grown more powerful and more focused in the mission. That’s why I am committed. That’s why I proudly wear the NAWBO medallion, designed by Kathy Kamei, as a symbol of that strength and purpose. And that’s why I advocate—because standing with NAWBO means standing with women leaders and small business owners everywhere.

For me I enjoy NAWBO in lots of ways. Some of those ways means joining from my office, home and when I'm ready around the world.

My big picture value of NAWBO:

• Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. Sitting with representatives, talking policy and solutions, making sure women business owners are part of the conversation.
• International Delegations. Traveling with powerhouse women, connecting with entrepreneurs from across the globe, and participating in summits with leaders at the highest levels of business and politics.
• Being Part of the Brand. NAWBO is the brand for women business owners in the U.S. If you want visibility, credibility, and advocacy at scale—with MANY perks for members of the organization. 
• The fact that you don’t even have to leave your desk to experience some of the value is KEY.

A question we have to ask ourselves. 

Every business owner asks it: what’s the value of this membership? What do I really get out of it?

How I Use NAWBO from Anywhere

As an everywhere CEO, I'm constantly on the move, I lean into the virtual side of opportunities as much as possible. Here's some NAWBO options online:

Each of these activities lead incredible conversations and opportunities. In my experience NAWBO and membership in most organizations is a reciprocal relationship. You get out what you put in. If you show up, NAWBO shows up for you—tenfold.

For me, the value is:

• Access. To policymakers, leaders, and opportunities I wouldn’t have otherwise.
• Community. Women who get it—because they LIVE it.
• Contribution. Knowing my membership supports advocacy and representation for all 14 million women-owned businesses in the U.S.

I’ve been in business 16 years. Everything I’ve given NAWBO—time, energy, ideas—has come back to me many times over. It’s not done giving, and I’m not done giving.
